When I use the Fastcopy utility from Central Point PC Tools (mine's version
9.0) for duplicating floppies, the resulting copies are full of bad sector
errors and frequently the boot section is also corrupt. So far I have only
tried this with HD floppies formatted for 1.44 Mb, which is pretty much all
I use.
I have never had problems with this utility on any other machine. Is it a
quirk of the 2.88 drive and/or controller, or is my TP broken? Perhaps
others with PC Tools on their machines (or available) could give me a report.
Also, my TP refuses to hibernate when the AC is plugged in. Is this a
design feature, a hardware problem, or a matter of bad settings in my
power-saving applets?
Finally, under some DOS programs (DOS edit is typical) if I move the cursor
suddenly, it changes shape from a single character block to a 3x3 block with
the center character position clear, and will not change back unless I
restart the program. This is not a major problem, but it makes me wonder
whether the standard mouse.com driver that ships with MS-DOS 6.2 is
completely compatible with the ThinkPad. Anyone else experienced something
similar?
Thanks,
Tim
