The IBM Thinkpad 755C System.Ini entry, device=tpaudvxd.386, is
a super memory hog. I have a 20mb ram 755C, and with QEMM 7.5,
I have 613kb base memory free when I go into Windows. I can only
have file manager, Word Perfect for Windows 6.0a, Procomm Plus 2.0
and I can't load either Lotus 1-2-3 rel 5 nor latest Lotus Free-
lance, yet if I comment out tpaudvxd.386, I can load as many big
hog programs as I want. As this 755c is my boss's boss (who wants
me to load more than 2 hog programs at a time on his 20mb ram
computer like he was able to on his Toshiba 4600C), I need to know
what my options are.
1. What about using New Media Corporation's PCMCIA .WAVjammer
card and using audio cables from that card's dongle device
back to the TP755C speakers, and using this sound device v.
that of the TP755C? Has anyone done this?
2. My TPAUDVXD.386 (in \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory) is 5,591
bytes and dated 2-14-94. Is there a newer, better version?
Where do I get the newer version (filename, directory, ftp
or bbs site).
3. Any other ideas?
Thanks!
