Hi!

I have a TP750Cs and i have a Mhz XJ2144 Modem.

I'm running kernel 1.1.74 and PCMCIA drivers 2.3.9

Ever since the PCMCIA 2.2.3 drivers came out, it has become increasingly
difficult to have cardmgr recognize the modem as as modem and not a pcmem_cs
card. This is a documented problem, but i wanted to know if those of you
ot there have had any luck sending a HUP signal to cardmgr and forcing it
to recognize the card without having to remove and reinsert the modem
about 20 times... Just wondering...

Also, has anyone tried to find out if the power button sends some sort of
keyboard code that could be deactivated so that it would be impossible
to turn the TP off without running, for example, a shutdown script? (I
know, wishful thinking...)

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS. sign me in for an order of cat tongues!
