Nicad batteries loose their charge pretty rapidly outside the machine if not
in use. Li-On's are MUCH better in this respect, I see them still at 95%
after two weeks, have not tried longer.

Li-On's can be left in without much worry, but I can't believe the 90-100%
cycling is good for Ni-Cad's. It is a pity there is no setting in the power
saving stuff which says forget about the battery and leave it alone.
