How big harddisk can a 360C accept?

I've got a 360C (SX/33) with 340Mb drive. I'd like to put a bigger harddisk
in it, but to keep the cost down it should be a 3rd party harddisk. IBM has
told me it originally came with 340Mb or 540Mb, so I can only add up to
540Mb. Other places I have read that it can accept 720Mb. I wonder what the
max size would be if I *don't* want to make a flash BIOS upgrade. My 360C
has a power problem so I can't be 100% confident that the battery can power
it during the flash BIOS upgrade. My BIOS have part# 89G5704 and is dated
09/02/94. So, in short, how big a harddisk can I mount in the TP without
having to make a BIOS upgrade?

If you happen to know how big it can be with a BIOS upgrade too, please let
me know.
