Well I've installed Linux on my ThinkPad755ce now for the difficult part
configuring Xf86Config. The problem I have there is with the
trackpoint. Presently it is configured as a ps/2 mouse but it doesn't
work. Is there a special driver available for it, if so where can I get
   it?

The driver for the trackpoint is built in to the kernel. Depending on
your kernel configuration, it might be built as a module, in which
case you will have to get it loaded.

Also, the device file "/dev/psmouse" is sometimes a symbolic link to
somewhere else. It's possible that you're missing the link or the
device file itself.

Are you getting an error message from the X server? If so, what is
it?
