howdy. i ust got linux up on my thinkpad 760, but the only
X configration that I can make work is the standard VGA resolution --
640x480. the screen is 800x600, and i want to find or invent
a workable XF86 Config file to use the full screen under X.
has anybody already done this? Does anybody have any general
advice on how to make the thinkpad screens interact with the
XFree server? all of the standard screen configration stuff
has to do with the inner details of cathode ray tubes, and
none of it really applies to flat screens ...

You need to get the 3.1.2E beta of the server; the released code
doesn't support that chipset. I don't have a config file, but there
are several others on the list who do.
