        I concur with Jerry's thoughts here. Adaptec isn't always the
best/fastest performer compared to some others making the same or similar
product, but its *universally* the best choice when it comes to
compatibility & getting stuff to work. Basically, Adaptec is the leader in
SCSI universality. To a great extent, we can credit their leadership in
making SCSI the universal & cross-platform standard that it is.

        I've bought a few SCSI cards (one a PCMCIA--Adaptec of course) and
was never disappointed or had trouble with any Adaptec card I bought.
