Hi Steve and to everyone on the Thinkpad mailing list-

Since I was in the market for a Thinkpad, I subscribed to
this list a week ago to get some info. It seems to be an
excellent source of information.

Yesterday I received my 701C. It has the Dx4-75MHz CPU,
24 MB RAM, and 540 HD. I installed Win95 last night, and
was expecting a big slowdown. To my suprise, the performance
is excellent. I couldn't be happier.

Now Steve, to your question. After the Win95 install, I downloaded
the driver from Chips and Technologies. They are listed as 'new'
in the display settings. They seem to work great without any
problems. I had also used them previously on a Zenith Z-STAR EX,
and they worked without a hitch. Try them; if they don't solve
your problem then call IBM.

I just have to say what an excellent machine this 701C is.
After lusting for one for over a year, I am finally happy.

Hope this helps...

Eric Giles
