To further this line of inquiry, I am also looking for
a 3rd party caddy for a TP701. PS Solutions will sell them
for $50, when they get them back in stock.

Does anyone have any experience with the PS Solutions caddy
     in a 701? I don't think that a 755 mounts a hard drive
caddy the same way that a 701 does, so there may not
     be a mounting problem.

     Thanks,

I put a 19mm drive into my TP755CD using a metal carrier from PS-Solutions.
I am now finding that the carrier comes loose from the TP connector because
the wire handle doesn't engage with the "hold down" tabs that are used with
the original TP case.

I carry my machine around a lot, so I expect it is working loose from
vibration. I have had scan disk errors that I assume can be attributed to
bad connection. This can be very "dangerous". PS-Solutions didn't have an
answer to fix it, though they are willing to have me send it back. For now,
I put a piece of thick tape over the drive case at the connector end to try
to get pressure from the closed keyboard to hold it in place. This isn't a
very good solution in my opinion, but I'll try it for now.

I am not sure if other carriers are any better. If you've tried a different
carrier that utilizes the hold down tabs, I would like to know. I would
switch to that.

Thanks
Mike Redmond
