BTW, if all you want to do is transfer files, then you can do this
either using a Laplink-like program or even with Interlink; the trick
on the latter is to have the Thinkpad be the server machine, and the
host with the CDROM be the target. (I may have this backwards; you
want to be logged in to the machine with the CD, and have the Interlink
blue screen on the notebook.) Of course, you can't install or run
software from the CDROM this way. (You *can* using the CDLINK
program.)
