ok, here's the deal:

there is no number for ezserv other than the 800 number. there is an
international number (800-426-4968), but they only support the *non-u.s.*
hardware.

ezserv won't talk to you anyway, unless you have a lena case (lena is the pc
company helpcenter software), so you have to call the helpcenter to document
the problem before you can call ezserv. now... the u.s. helpcenter *also*
does not have a number other than their 800 number (800-772-2227). that's
because they, like ezserv, only support u.s. hardware. they are aware,
however, that u.s. hardware travels outside the country, so they offer (for a
fee, of course) an 'international warranty' on u.s. thinkpads so that you can
get support for them at the *international* helpcenter.

further, even if you went through the helpcenter and got a lena case, u.s.
ezserv will not accept a thinkpad shipped from outside the country (something
about liability and customs). you'd have to ship it to someone in the u.s.,
who could then ship it to ezserv.

ezserv reccommends:
ship the thinkpad to someone in the u.s. and have them go through the u.s.
helpcenter & ezserv.

helpcenter reccommends:
buy the international warranty and go through the international helpcenter &
ezserv.
