On my 755 pressing Fn + F2 toggles the display on and off.
There may be something similar on yours - look for a little
battery drawn on one of the function keys.
The real problem here is the "always on top" thing is set
for this - some day I'm going to find out how to turn that
off, which is my only real problem with it.
On the bright side I still get almost two hours on my
original battery in my 755 so I can turn this off without
too much worry...
