activex 3.0 on TP760CD/95

I've been trying to install and run a game called Diablo on a Thinkpad
760CD, running Win95.

The game calls for ActiveX 3.0 which can be installed from the Diablo
CD-ROM. I've done that but the machine freezes up on a black screen
when I try to run the game. The manual indicates that I may have to
update display drivers but I can find no support at the IBM site or at
Microsoft.

Anyone have any ideas?
