I see that the subject of CPU speedups has come up again. Some time
ago I offered to post my own experiences with replacing my *desktop* 486-66
with the AMD586-133; several readers asked me to do so. I held back
because at about that time one of the upgrade companies
which lurks here promised some real-world benchmarks. However, they
didn't follow up; so, I've put my own results on the web. BTW, I'd
appreciate
any feedback - if it is well-received, I'll keep it on disk and repost
sporadically, as the subject recurs.
