some months ago, people on this list mentioned cdlink -- to connect two
computers and use the cd-drive on one as a cd-drive on the other.
i have downloaded it, but despite all my efforts it does not seem to work.
could some kind soul that was successful tell me what i am doing wrong?
my setup is as follows:
(1) desktop w/cd-drive:
windows 3.11 for workgroups
config.sys includes a line that defines the cdrom drive
autoexec.bat includes the line "mscdex /d:mscd000"
(2) laptop (thinkpad 560):
windows 95
config.sys includes "device=cdlink.sys"
autoexec.bat includes "mscdex /d:mscd000"
-- on computer (1) i run "cdserve" and select the parallel port
-- i reboot computer (2) (in dos mode), and i get "no cdrom server
connected"
notes: the cdrom works on computer (1)
the parallel ports connection is ok (i can run norton commander
link, for example)
any ideas?
i would really like to be able to use the cdrom drive for my 560!!!
