QuickRes Problem on TP 380

I installed QuickRes, one of the Powertoys from Microsoft, on a ThinkPad
380 (TFT display, NeoMagig MagicGraph 128ZV). On my desktop computer
QuickRes lets me change both the resolution and the color depth. On the
ThinkPad, however, I can only change the resolution (800x600 or 640x480).
To change the color depth (8 bit or 16 bit) I have to access the Display
Properties from the Control Panel. Can I change the color depth with
QuickRes, and if yes, how? Thank you for your help.
