YOU can perfectly well run the Spec suite under Linux or Os/2, but it is
probably not worth while to do so, since the results are unlikely to be
particularly operating system dependent.
If you wnat to measure the effect of architecture changes on OS performance
specifically, then of course you will need specialized benchmarks, but I
doubt there is very much variation between OS's in this respect.
