Replacing HD with standard 2.5"?

I presume I'm not the first who asks this question, so feel free to answer via EMail if this
is a FAQ.

I'd like to upgrade the HD (currently 2.1GB in the typical UltraBay HD shell) of my 760ED.

Now, is it possible to
- open my existing case (how?),
- remove the old HD,
- insert the new HD (IBM DPLA25120) and
- just use it?

Or is there something special about Ultra Bay HDs / HD shells?
