I'm trying to use an external modem (Ricochet SX, see www.ricochet.net
for more info--yay) with my 755cx. I used EZ-setup to enable port 1
and used PS2.EXE to enable SERA and disable IR. So the connector on
the back should really be connected to COM1 and I believe that's true
because it used to work with another serial device in the past (I don't
have a tester around now though). I believe I can connect to COM1 with
Kermit and get some characters from the modem. However, when I select
"Modems" from Control Panel and click "more info", Windoze pops a box
that says "Can't open COM1". Trying to connect to COM1 from Hyper Terminal
gives similar results. Any idea what I need to do to make Com1 visible
to Windoze 95? (Kermit is a DOS program--things may be different).
I hate Windoze... thanks for any help.
Paul
