I purchased my 233/13.3 TFT 770 in Norway (where I am from), just prior to an extended stay in the US (I will be working here for the next year). I actually purchased my 770 on an export license (for tax reasons) from IBM Norway, and I also included the DVD/Enhanced Video Adapter option. I actually went for the DVD option because I am a big movie enthusiast.

My *big* problem however, is the fact that IBM Norway, in spite of assurances to the contrary, bundled my DVD with the driver CD for region 2 (Europe). This, of course, means that I am unable to watch any US-coded DVD movies, which was my main purpose for buying the DVD in the first place. After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing with IBM Norway, IBM International and IBM USA, the verdict is unanimous: there is no way that IBM will release the Region 1 disc to me. This is actually not IBM's fault, they are tied down by copyright laws ( from the movie studios , I presume). In short, the only way for me to get the Region 1 disc, is to purchase another DVD- drive here in the US! As you can imagine, I am none too thrilled by this idea.

So what I have been leading up to here, is a question as to whether anyone on the list could help me obtain a copy of the disc, or perhaps just a few of the critical files? I will of course cover all costs for copying/shipping etc. I am just pretty much stumped as to any other options, these last 3 months I have tried pretty much all "official" options. I would be extremely grateful if any of you guys could help me out here!

Very best regards,
