I've got it running on a 760el with no problems.... Below is the text of
the message I got from Sun when I sent a request for help on this... I
imagine it should work as well for your xd...

Engineering has offered the following unsupported test fix. No guarantees
but you are welcome to try. Attached file, tp760el.xqa, can be applied as
follows:

 1. become super user

 2. cp tp760el.xqa /usr/openwin/etc/devdata/SUNWaccel/boards/toshiba

 3. kdmconfig -u; kdmconfig -cf to reconfigure windowing system,
    user should select "IBM ThinkPad 760EL".

Please let us know if this works.
