Your system is a 9546-U9A (9546-4Z4 if refurbished by IBM).

The "E" supposedly stands for enhanced. The "D" means that the system
originally shipped with a Cd-ROM drive. In the case of the ED, it was a
6X or 8X drive.

What did you get back? That the model and serial number did not match,
or that the model could not be found?

You are very naive if you think that IBM will provide accurate
information. They are very precise however.
