        Soooo...I wanted the P-II 266 model...BUT for $500 less--and
        perhaps more importantly, not having to wait an unknown amount
        of time--I can have the P-II 233 model tomorrow. So I placed
        the order. A bit more than the lowest I found, but at $3849,
        its pretty much par for the course--there's not a lot of price
        variation out there on these things.

Actually I saw a used one selling for $3000 a month or two ago.
I was the first to contact the guy and it was for real, but
then I found that the 600 had the Neomagic video chip so I decided
not to buy it. It was tempting, though.

        I also got them to shave a few bucks off the IBM 64 MB memory
        module (the cheapo 3rd parties don't seem to be ramped up to
        make this SDRAM memory for the latest ThinkPads just yet).

I believe the 600 uses the same memory as the 770, but am not positive.
