I have had 14.1" 770 screen immediately next to a 13.3" 600 screen. I
just switched from the 770 to the 600, and i have to say that I do not
notice the difference in size at all. The footprint of the 13.3" 770
will be slightly smaller than the 14.1".
(It's kind of interesting to have a 600 next to a 770: the 600 with the
lid down is thinner than the 770 with the lid up!)
Thanks. That's interesting about the size, though it doesn't really
tell anything about the brightness, since the 13.3" 770 screen is the
same as the 13.3" 765 screen, while the 770 14.1" screen is newer
(introduced with the 770). It's possible (don't know one way or the
other) that the 600 screen is also a new model with brightness similar
to the 14.1" 770 screen (supposedly 30% brighter than previous laptops).
Yes, the 600 is tempting, especially since there are some no-cost X
servers available for it now (still not "free" since they're
binary-only).
