Not if you look hard. I think the regular price at netlux is around $50, and at closeouts I've managed to find 2 (one generic, one
brand name) for less than $30. Also, you might look at www.ebay.com for a used card (since people often move to faster ethernet and
sell their old cards here). Hmm, I see that surplusdirect has an Addtron and an Eiger for $40.

I've used Chip Merchant several times; they don't always carry the specific chip one needs, but when they do they invariably have
the best price.
