Alexander..
did you:
1. test all from easy setup
2. pull the add in memory and or pull one or the other of the possible two 16meg
DIMM's in your 760X machine..??
3. put an alternate HDD in place and let it run for a while to see if it again
failed..??

my thoughts are:
1. not heat, the fan in the 760X series should keep that well below the 760E
series heat..
2. hardware.. memory, cmos memory, the cmos battery..
3. hardware again.. :-)

i hope this helps in some small way, but it might be time for a trip to the
micro-doctor..
