Since some in this group buy and sell used equipment, I thought there
might be some interest in this announcement (from
http://www.ups.com/news/current.html):
Important Changes to UPS C.O.D. Service
As of September 28, UPS will no longer accept cash (currency) as payment
for C.O.D. packages. UPS shippers have the option to request that UPS only
accept a money order, cashier's check, official bank check, or similar
instrument for the exact amount of the C.O.D. package.
Also on September 28, a new consolidated processing system will speed the
arrival of C.O.D. payments by up to three days.
In August, UPS drivers began distributing printed announcements to all
customers who pay cash for a C.O.D. package. Shippers may also want to
inform their customers who frequently make cash payments.
New C.O.D. Tags will gradually replace the ones now in use. The current
C.O.D. Tags can be used until the supply is exhausted. If the "Cash Only"
option is selected, UPS will only accept a money order, cashier's check,
official bank check, or similar instrument.
If you have any questions, please contact your local UPS Account
Executive, or call 1-800-PICK-UPS.
