Compared with the TP1410 I'm not sure what the difference is except that
the 1410 lets you play your audio CD's without having the computer turned
on -- big whoop!

I'll know more about the TP390 shortly since I'll be setting one up next
week -- IBM describe it as for business users, and COMPUSA for example keep
it in their business section while the "i" series is out on the floor.

It could well be a marketing decision to substantially undercut Toshiba
(despite their latest $200 cut) by having a version with little difference
internally.

I think the software bundle is the same -- WIN98 restore disk and Lotus
Millenium SS (which should mean with ViaVoice unless it is a special
edition) on CD -- but maybe the "i" series have the usual preinstalled
mish-mash of AOL Prodigy etc.
