One doesn't preclude the other. My Mhz XJ4288 has both XJack and
cellphone connectors. I frequently use it with my MicroTac and it's great to
have the option available. All of the newer (56K) Mhz cards that offer cell
connectivity have both connectors also.

As to your Ethernet card choices, their numbers are legion and amongst the
"brand name" units, one is as good as another. We have an installed base of
approx. 50 of the Xircom 10/100 cards and have not yet had a failure, but
YMMV.

As to "all in one" combination ethernet/modem cards, I view them like the old
Akai tape decks that ran open reel - 8 track cartridge - cassette all in one
unit. Nice for copying tapes, but when one function died, you lost all the
functions while it was in the shop.

I like to keep the ethernet/modem functions separate as it's a LOT cheaper to
replace a single unit if one or the other goes south.
