I have used a lot of PCMCIA modem cards, and the various Xircom cards
have been the best because the lasted the longest and operated the
most rapidly... gave me the fewest problems... next were the Megaherz
because of their various configurations for cell phones and networks...

The poorest performing modems for me have always been the Thinkpad
Mwave modems which seem to have more problems with various ISP portmasters
and the like.

The more recent 3-Com cards have been ok, but haven't matched up to the
above cards.
