Depends on the system you're coming from. I came from a P90 Toshiba,
and a P166 desktop, so I probably wouldn't have noticed the 34 mhz at
all. The 300 does suck a little more battery, and I think I would
have gone with the 266 except the 600E added AGP video, 256 bit
graphics, with 1024x768 24bpp resolution, and a DVD drive. The
gee-whiz features that you can't live without :).
With $800 more though, you could buy an awful lot of RAM. That'd more
than make up for the initial performance slack between the 266 and
300.
