i agree with you, but oil companies don't encode the gasoline so it will only work
on cars built in the USA or UK or Argentina..
gas is gas and it'll work in most any car..
this was my only disagreement with that parallel..

as far as DIVX goes, i won't buy one, ever.. never.. nor will i buy a DIVX
player.. or a dual DVD/DIVX player..
i don't even bother to copy VHS tapes, i rent one from time to time, then send
them back..
i buy one when its about $10 and if the movie is one i would watch again.. (very
very few qualify for this)..
when video tapes first came out, movies were $100 and the tapes were $25~, so it
paid for people to make bootleg copies..
now the cost enables easy acquisition of legit copies..

soon DVDF/DIVX writers will be available, thenm the costs will come down to where
its not cost effective to make a copy, just eithjer rent one or buy it or wait for
the network tv release.. :-)
