     To all the responders to my post, many thanks. I did get the program
     to work via reloading it, but then it did the "illegal operation"
     thing in windows 95. I ended up wiping the disk clean and installing
     Win 98. Installing all the drivers was the hard part (IBM's Win98
     setup disk helped), but it was worth it. Win 98 is a lot more stable
     than 95.
     
     I'll get around to installing NT next week. The 770 is a great
     laptop, but it is big. I think I'll leave it on my desk. Linux, too,
     one of these days.
