Have you installed a SCSI device or tape backup device? Boot up in Safe
mode. Does the Floppy work there? If so - go to device manager and check to
see if you have a category SCSI adapters. Highlight the device there and
select properties. Go to the settings tab. Change the command from /W95
to /DE. OR disable the floppy drive controller in device manager. The SCSI
to parallel driver takes over Floppy access.

If this doesn't work - cold boot the system holding down the F1 key.
This takes you to EZ-Setup. Go to test and click on FDD-1 (if in the
UltraBay) or FDD-2 (if attached externally. IF it passes this quick test -
press CTRL-A on your keyboard. Exit the FRU Connections page, exit the
keyboard test page and then click again on the floppy. It will ask you to
insert a floppy disk and do a diagnostic ...

   Good Luck.
    Drew.
