Hi there,

my TP600 behaves strangely when running on batteries. The xapm power
gauge in Linux shows the energy left in battery. From a full 100%
charge, the rate decreases steadily to about 30%. So far so good.
However, instead of decreasing continously, the meter drops to 5% all
of a sudden and I get low-battery warnings. After that, the machine
has about 10 minutes of battery power left before it switches to
hibernation.

Since the battery in the machine is a LiIon battery, I've thought
that the APM Bios can determine the amount of energy left pretty
accurately. Furthermore, wasn't the great thing about LiIons that they
don't have the memory effect?

Can anybody explain or confirm that behaviour? Is the battery possibly
broken?

TIA,

        Alexander

PS: I appreciate personal copies of your answers.
