I'm not sure I understand why you're bothering with a news posting for what
is obviously a hardware or BIOS problem with a "brand new" machine. Take
the thing back where you bought it, point at it and emit incoherent whiny
grunts until they exchange it.

Do make sure you PRECISELY follow the directions for BIOS upgrades, however.
Unlike software upgrades, a botched BIOS flash upgrade can trash your
motherboard. On that note, I do believe I would refrain from telling the
retailer that you upgraded the BIOS. Might save you a lot of explaining.
