I'm not too sure about it being a BIOS problem now. I've discovered that
the machine boots perfectly well after letting it "rest" for about 5
minutes. Perhaps it's a BIOS feature so one wouldn't turn that thing on and
off too much? How else do you explain this?

I'm reluctant to bring it back as I've already installed 98 almost
flawlessly. Still trying to get my external mouse to work - any tips? - but
besides that, it's working fine.
