My 1720 has a Phoenix BIOS, and all the power management settings can be
reached directly by entering setup at boot. I prefer to do this and not
have the Windows utility, which I've found to be quirky anyway, cluttering
my drive.
Also, as Mr. Ramos has pointed out, I forgot that Windows probably won't
automatically detect APM upon reboot, if you remove it -- hardware detection
wizard is a necessary step.
