The same problem, but in regard to a 701, was discussed in
this list recently.

It turned out to be that the charging system got confused. It
thought that the battery was at 100%, but in fact it was closer
to zero. A DOS-based program RESETBAT.EXE (note this was the
701, not the 560) restored the charging system to sanity.
Since the 560 is the spiritual descendant of the 701 ... but
you try it at your own risk!

Other suggestions, which turned out to be false leads in that
case, included:
battery no good
charger no good (would require professional repair)
brick no good
