I also own a 760ED. I bought it used, and I didn't notice how bad the keyboard was. All the frequently used keys seem to very stiff if not pressed exactly in the centre. On the other hand, the infrequently (upper part of the keyboard) used keys seem okay.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Is there any way to repair this, short of purchasing a new keyboard?

    I was never happy about my ThinkPad 760ED keyboard, and it appears to be degrading with age.
    My older 750Cs keyboard is much firmer, in comparison.
     
    How are the newer ThinkPad keyboards?
