Hello,
Well I finally got some time to look at my 365ED closely. I found the
problem!
It was a connector that came off on the lcd. I had this happen before and I
thought I had check the panel for that when it first failed.
The back of the LCD has two long narrow printed circuit boards going across
the width of the panel. One is at the top and the other at the bottom.
There
are little snap-in connectors that connect these to the main board on the
side
of the LCD where the motherboard connector connects. When I took
the LCD out and pressed on one of the little snap-in connectors it
snapped back into place.
I think part of the problem was I lost one of the mounting screws for the
panel. The missing screw was near where the loose connector was so
I figured that opening and closing of the lid may have cause the LCD panel
to flex more in that area and it worked the connector loose. I was able to
find
another metric screw to replace the missing one so I will see if this solves
the
problem.
So my new laptop plans are on-hold for now. I will keep my eye open for
a super deal on a older 770.
