Hi,

I have had my ThinkPad 760ED for a long time without ever having needed the IR
port. It was therefore disabled.
Now I am the proud owner of a Palm IIIx PDA which has an IR port, and I would like to
use it to hotsync it to the ThinkPad.
What do I have to do? I tried the ThinkPad Setup program and enabled the IR port,
setting it to COM4 and IRQ3 (which was free). The program warned me that "this
resource was in use by the Serial Driver which would be disabled" (or a similar
message to that effect). I proceeded, but after shutting down OS/2 and restarting it,
when I tried to hotsync with pilot-link via COM4, it gave me a message that it did not
know about a COM4 port.

After searching information on the 'net without much luck (and finding to my dismay
that the Warped ThinkPad Page has apparently been discontinued), I am somewhat at
a loss for information and hope that somebody on the list may be able to enlighten
me.

Many thanks in advance,

Andreas
