If you will be upgrading to Win98 then the best option is to do a fresh
install of windows and just install the programs you want of the
Customization CD and download the latest TP drivers. (The only things you
really would lose are the bitmaps. Everything else should be on the CD if
you want it.

In your case you probably already have Win98 so just uninstall what you
don't want. Then use a good registry cleanup program to remove all the
garbage left behind. MS products are the worst at leaving the registry
bloated with trash that over time makes the system boot much slower...
