IBM tends to be very conservative when it comes to replacing perhiperals.. (ac
adapter and the like)..
while they say 2 weeks, often the part will arrive in a day or two..

also, the battery MIGHT be part of the ac adapter problem.. but i think you would
know the difference if it were not getting a charge rather than not keeping the
charge..
also, i think is is unlikely to be the ac adapter, but more LIKELY is the socket..
if so, the machine will need to be sent in..
to check, look inside the barrell connector and verify that the inner connector is
intact..
(it appears to be a "U" shaped wire)
