Vincent -
The 9549-8AU 770Z does _NOT_ come with the enhanced adapter. (At least the
three that we have didn't.)
I ordered the enhanced adapter as a separate option.
The Port 770 Case is fairly bulky, but I like mine because it eliminates the
need for a briefcase or something similar.

I called PC Connection this morning and they told me it does come
with the Video Adapter. I guess I'll try to pick up that model and see
how my luck goes. If it comes with it, fine. If it doesn't, I'll see how
well the machine performs without it and then order one later. What price
did you pay for the 9549-8AU from them since CDW and PCZone has it for
$4698 which is $101 less than PC Connection. Since PC Connection
guarantees low prices. The salesperson told me that they will call me
back to see if the buyer person can approve the discount. Also, I was
wondering if the Targus Universal Air Case will fit the 770Z or not since
they told me it won't but I have a Port case here that IBM gave for free
for the 385ED and then I bought the Targus case so just wanted to be on
the safe side. They recommended the ThinkPad 770 Deluxe Case from Port
though. I just wonder if that case is lightweight or not and hopefully
it's not as thick as the targus. I'm trying to decide between going with
CDW or PC Connection since it seems PCZone won't have the machines until
5/17/99 while CDW will only let you buy through the so-called Account
Manager and PC Connection seems to answer questions except the person I
talked to today said the Enhanced DVD Video Adapter is built in on the
770Z and optional on the 770X. Ofcourse, the brochures on IBM's website
says differently.
