The motherboard on my Thinkpad 385XD was recently replaced under
warranty because it occasionally would not connect properly with an
Enhanced Port Repicator.

Since the motherboard was replaced I have noticed that if I leave the
computer on but unused for more than 20 minutes it will seize up
completely. The two LEDs on either end of the row of LEDs remain lit,
but nothing else happens. The computer will not even respond to the on
off switch - I have to use the emergency power switch on the bottom of
the computer to regain control. This problem occurs whether or not I
am using battery power or AC power through the port replicator.

Can anyone suggest what is happening, or what I should do? The
technician who installed the second mother board says that it must have
been a defective board, and has ordered another one, but I wonder if
there is some other explanation.
