the 701 will take up to 6.4gigs..
you'll need a T-6 torx driver to remove the screws that hold the drive in the HDD
shell (caddy, if you insist<g>)
be careful seperating the drive from the header plug..
insert the new drive and, unless you want to drill some holes in the old HDD shell,
just use either double side tape to hold the drive in place..
if the new drive is a 12.5mm drive, you really don't need to do anything, just
slide it in and go..
(do NOT use the shorting jumper from the old drive on the new drive.. its not
needed..
i've been using 6.4gig and 720meg drives in my 701C's..
the small drives are in the original preload machine(s) running antique apps.. the
larger drives are required for MS Bloatware.. :-)
