Hello. I am having problems making my thinkpad hibernate and I was
recommended to try asking you. I have my system configured to use NT4.0
sp3 w/ NTFS.
Upon attempting to initialize hibernation, the hibernation program returns
the error: "Error creating hibernation file" and the hibernation fails.
I have been told that I need to have a FAT partition below the 1024
cylinder boundary but then I have also been told that it will work with
NTFS (see messages below)...

My setup is as follows:
IBM thinkpad 600e model 2645-5AU
256MB RAM.
6GB disk partitioned into 3GB (primary), 2GB(secondary), and 1GB not used.
3GB and 2GB partitions are NTFS.
OS is NT4.0 with service pack 3.

Thank you very much for your help.

Interesting!

I have a 4.0gig drive which is totally dedicated to NT4(NTFS)It hibernates fine. Sounds like the 1024 restriction is preventing
hibernation!

Try thinkpad_at_cs.utk.edu (ThinkPad group) to post the question.
