Right! It looks like they've only written the .efx reader for
Windows.

"Yes! Users of Macintosh, UNIX, Linux and other non-Windows systems
receive faxes in a TIFF-F format (vs. .efx format). These faxes are
not password-protected or super-compressed. But, the basic eFax.com
service of automatically forwarding paper documents to an email
address via a personal eFax number is the same."
